Re - A hidden agenda for educational technology in Australia
AbstractEdTech'88, the biennial conference of the Australian Society for Educational Technology witnessed numerous demonstrations of the applications of technology to instruction. Predominantly attention focused on the mechanisms of the technology and their attributes applied to a wide range of instructional problems. Underlying the practical implementation of the technology however were concerns which might best be described as a 'hidden agenda'. Garth Boomer alluded to a series of non-technology based considerations from which items for this agenda might be derived. This article discusses those items and suggests that they may provide a parallel working model (to design considerations) for the future development of educational technology in Australia.
