In September 1989, the Centre for Evening and External Studies at Macquarie University began a project to design, produce and offer Australia's first comprehensive unit in Conflict Resolution Studies. The aim of the project was threefold: (1) to assist the School of History, Philosophy and Politics in developing an exciting new area of study; (2) to provide external and internal students with an independent learning package; and (3) to evaluate as a case study the effectiveness of the instructional design and to assess student response to material in the distance education mode.Downloads
